Boxing fans though they have seen the last of biting in the ring, but they were left stunned when another professional boxer was involved in a biting incidence.

History was made in June 1997 when the WBA Heavyweight Bout between the Iron Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield dubbed as 'The sound and the fury' ended in an abysmal Round 3 when Tyson bit off a chunk of Holyfield's ear. He, Tyson was immediately disqualified and subsequently banned. The infamous Tyson bite made the bout to be dubbed by fans as 'the bite fight'. 22 years later, history has been repeated, this time, involving 2 British boxers, Kash Ali the culprit and David price the victim.

Kash Ali, 27, Birmingham, the UK in a non-title heavyweight bout against his British counterpart from Liverpool, David Price, 37, lost his cool in the 5th round, wrestled his opponent to the ring floor and bit him on the chest. The bout was immediately halted by the referee, Ali was then disqualified instantly. David Price afterwards, claimed Ali had bitten him 4 times during the bout, GOSH! what will make a pro boxer to bite in a boxing ring, a non-title bout for that matter?

In the wake of Kash Ali's disgraceful biting act, he has been banned for 6 months and fined £10,000 by the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC). Ali was also ordered to tender an apology to Price and boxing fans. He had since apologized, and he said;

I am sorry to all boxing fans, to my team, my family, the BBBofC, David Price, his team and his family, ...I am hugely embarrassed for my actions and the way the whole fight unfolded - Kash Ali.

To the bout itself, it started slowly, both boxers trying to gain control and dictate the pace of the bout, few jabs and counter jabs were thrown. Round 2 went almost the same as the round 1, with both boxers trying to impose over the other. By Round 3, Price had up his antics, hurting Ali on several occasion with his right-handed jabs. Ali showed frustration when he hit Price at the back of the head in the round and was docked a point by the referee. He also was warned for bitting Price on the shoulder as round 3 ended. By now, Price seems to be slightly ahead in the judges' scorecards as round 4 wounds down. In round 5, Price, 37, seems to be showing signs of tiredness, Ali who is chasing the bout fancied his moment and launches attacks, but he was met with Price's right-handed jabs almost every time. Ali got frustrated as the 5th round wounds down, he hauled his opponent to the floor and sink in his teeth on his chest, there was no hiding place this time, as the tech mark was glaring on Price's chest, a 5th round TKO win for Price and defeat for Ali.

With the win, David Price records now stand at 24(W)-6(L), 19KOs and Kash Ali now tasted defeat for the 1st time in 16 pro fights, 15(W)-1(L), 7KOs.

Thank you all for your time.
