The new generation of Filipinos does not know much about Gabriel "Flash" Elorde, but he is the most renowned Filipino boxer on his time. He was named Flash because of his quickness of releasing hand blows towards his opponents and at the same time, he has the agility and talent in boxing.

The same as Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, he is also a southpaw and having almost the same quickness and intelligence if we try to compare the two. During his career in boxing, he was having around 118 total fights which really a remarkable that he did able to achieved those number of fights within his boxing career.

He was born in my hometown Cebu, Philippines and most Filipino Cebuanos knows his excellence in boxing. His greatness in boxing is being honored by Cebuanos by creating and naming a bread "Elorde", which is two gloves being attached to each other. Even today that kind of bread exists in the Philippines and one of the best selling.

He brings pride to the country with his great performance in boxing. He won 89 matches and lost 27 matches at the same time. Which I think he had a great journey throughout his boxing career. He is a legend and even achieved as Hall of Fame in boxing.

He legacy is an inspiration to the new generation of Filipino boxers. His dedication and passion in boxing sports put him to his successful career in boxing. Holding his World Junior Lightweight Champion for 10 times before he was beaten by Yoshiaki Numata of Japan was really a great record in boxing history.
