Boxer Hugo Ruiz will replace the injured Abner Mares in the title fight against world super bantamweight champion Gervonta Davis on February 9 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson.
Ruiz has a total of 39 fights made, of which he has won 35; 33 by the way of the knockout. Just a few days ago Ruiz defeated Alberto Guevara by unanimous decision.
The North American champion Gervonta Davis is undefeated in 20 fights made 19 of them won by the way of knockout
Ruiz, is a former WBC super bantamweight world champion, who fought Alberto Guevara, will seek the victory. Ruiz is a hard and strong hand puncher who fought mostly at 118 and 122 pounds, but in his last two fights he has done it at 126 pounds.
Gervonta Davis was initially prepared to fight against Abner Mares, but the fight was canceled because Mares was injured in the elbow.
We can see that the champion Davis is younger, has greater weight, more height and a greater reach than the challenger Ruiz
Gervonta Davis has a huge punch, great speed and extensive experience in short-distance combat.
My prediction is that Geronta Davis should win by knockout in the 5th round.
