All Set for an Easy Fight for Canelo
During the week leading up to the fight, 'Canelo' has given his place to Yildirim, despite being up in the betting to 40-1. The super champion said he wants a perfect fight to neutralize his challenger in Miami. MIAMI -- The stage is set for the anticipated combat between Mexican champion 'Canelo' Alvarez and Turkish challenger Avni Yildirim. This Saturday both fighters topped the scales at 167.6 pounds each, under the 168-pound limit for their bout for the World Boxing Association and World Boxing Council Super Middleweight belts at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in front of some 15,000 fans. According to bookmakers, Canelo should knock out his challenger in less than 4 rounds. 'Canelo' knows it won't be an easy fight and above all he expects an aggressive Yildirim to come out and hurt him from the first minute. "I always like to take my time, but it depends on what Yildirim comes to do," Canelo stated after the weigh-in. "We know he wants to come and rip my head off, but we'll try to do our best and I'll try to nullify everything he comes to do." "I always want to be perfect, I always want to do things right above the ring and this is no exception," he assured. This is Canelo's first fight in Miami in over a decade and he now aims to make the city a venue for fights in the future. "I am very happy, very excited to be here, to open a new venue for big fights, I hope it will be the first of many and it is an honor for me to be in the Dolphins stadium," he concluded.
