My Top 5 Best Defensive Boxers
I will be listing my top 5 best defensive boxers of all time and mind you this is my list and my option, you can choose to oppose it but remember there have been some great boxers with amazing boxin defensive which thier styles are copied by your modern or favourite boxer. SourceHere is my list of the best in history: Before I proceed I will let you know Floyd Mayweather is considered as the greatest defensive boxer and many would agree on that, so he is definitely without no doubt on everyone's list including mine, but let's look at other top 5 best defensive boxer in the history.1. Tony CanzoneriHe beat America's monsters like Lou Ambers, Jimmy McLarnin, Frankie Klick, Baby Arizmendi, Kid Chocolate, Cleto Locatelli, Jack Kid Berg, Harry Dublisksky, Billy Petrolle, Al Singer, etc. A boxing legend, of which I wrote in my section "Greater than Muhammad Ali."2. Willie PepHe beat Sandy Saddler, Sal Bartolo, Charly Wright, Lulu Constantino, the great Manuel Ortiz, Allie Stolz, Eddy Compo, among other great fighters who took on many challenges. All the great coaches studied Pep's technique, and his opposition is beyond doubt in the same era as Tony Canzoneri (Golden Era).3. George BentonMany here have no fucking idea who Benton is, but James Toney and Floyd Mayweather jr. They copied the technique of this great middleweight boxer who faced the elite of the United States at the time. A defensive genius with the most difficult style to copy. He was never a world champion but he sweeps in opposition to Locche.4. Charley BurleyThe best known of the famous Black Murderers' Row, the row of black murderers (take a look at my section on Golden Era) that Ray Robinson himself avoided in his time. A boxer who beat Fritzie Zivic, Archie Moore, Cocoa Kid, Billy Soose, Jimmy Leto, Holman Williams, Shorty Hogue, etc. Outside of beating other BMR gladiators like Jack Chase, or Aaron Wade. The most avoided boxer in history, with the rest of the BMR. Defending him was fearsome in the heart of the Golden Age.5. Benny LeonardThe "Ghetto Wizard" was a boxing witch. As with Willie Pep, Leonard had gazelle legs in the ring and in his best moment he could move him from one part of the ring to another with two steps. A boxer who won great boxers in his time and was the first defensive engineer in history where Pep himself would learn to move with Joey Giardello among others. He had very high opposition in boxing. There are many boxers with great defensive attributes, will be listing them on my next post.
