Who is the true welterweight king?
Errol Spence jr vs Terence bud Crawford the inevitable superfight of the welterweight division. Both coming off their own respective bouts, Crawford coming off a 4 round finish of former boxing star Amir Khan, Spence a few months removed from a 12 round beatdown of lightweight champion Mikey garcia. These fighters have everything in common from weight class, undefeated record, both even claim to be the very best in boxing. The main difference between the two is their promotions. Crawford is with ESPN Top Rank and Bob Arum, while spence is being promoted by Fox PBC and Al Haymon. Unfortunately these two companies very rarely do business together in this seemingly greedy sport of boxing. I’m sure every boxing fan has came to wonder if this fight will ever truly come into fruition, I guess that’s for the fans to wonder and the fighters and promoters to cherry pick their way to the most money possible. And I don't blame this dream fight not happening on the fighters really, in fact both Spence and Crawford have gone out of their way to show the world they would love to fight each other varying from post fight callouts, to twitter wars, even hashing it out in person being seemingly friendly with each other with a slight feel of “ I could Ko you”. To be honest if and when the fights does happen I have crawford beating spence flat out. I think the overall the talent and grit of crawford along with his effortless boxing ability would have spence lost for words when the two meet in the ring. I’m sure many of you would disagree, but that is the beauty of combat sports. Alas this fight doesn't seem to be coming together anytime soon, with Spence rumored to nearing a deal on a potential unification bout with WBC title holder Sean Porter, and Crawford just coming off a quick tko of Amir Khan it leaves the boxing world wondering…
