IBF title fight by Petalcorin in Australia
Randy Petalcorin Image Source Felix Alvarado Image SourceAussie promoter Peter Maniatis insist that the match will be held in Melbourne, Australia for his Pinoy boxer an ex-WBA interim light flyweight champion Randy Petalcorin and No. 1 contender Felix Alvarado of Nicaragua for vacant IBF junior flyweight title. "I will try bring the vacant IBF title to Melbourne, Australia," Maniatis said at Fightnews.com. "It’s a great 50/50 fight. Both Alvarado and Petalcorin have power and both box very smart and set up attacks well with great boxing records." Petalcorin is currently training at Sanman Gym in General Santos City which is owned by his co-manager Jim Managquil. "Randy’s strength is he’s a very fast and sharp boxer with power in both hands. Petalcorin is also a southpaw and uses the angles very well," Maniatis emphasized. "We think Randy is ready with over 30 professional bouts and the fact Randy was the WBA interim world champion four years ago at 22 years of age makes him a seasoned boxer." Maniatis also assured that Petalcorin was ready for the world title fight which has a last six straight wins, with 5 knockouts. "Of course, Randy is 100% ready and focused. He has fought in Melbourne four times since 2013 so he's familiar with Melbourne, "added Maniatis. "Both Alvarado and Petalcorin are the most avoided boxers in the light flyweight division. I rate Alvarado very high." Petalcorin has a record of 29-2-1 with 22 knockout wins compared to Alvarado with 33 wins, 2 losses with 29 knockout wins. SourceIts a big shot for Petalcorin to win this vacant IBF title match. Petalcorin's latest matched was with Oscar Raknafa of Indonesia which was held at Malvern Town Hall, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and won by hitting Raknafa with a body shot in round 1. Petalcorin and Alvarado showed that they have a strong powerful punch based on their record and both fighters should not be taken so lightly . For this fight, I'm going to bet with Petalcorin. Good luck to both new generation fighters and hope it will be a good fight.
