Tawamba won against kopai after nice castle attack
Today I won against player kopai who is new at Lichess, but had rating around 1900. I managed to check mate him with Knight after one nice castle attack. He could defend better, I think he didn't release how big Check mate threat is until it was to late. We started Italian Game: Anti-Fried Liver Defense with early exchange of Knights and dark Bishop. We made castles on same side. I noticed that my light Bishop has opportunity for check, but it was to early for that at this stage. 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 Bc4 h6 4 d4 exd4 5 Nxd4 Qf6 6 Nxc6 dxc6 7 Nc3 Bc5 8 Qe2 Bd7 9 Be3 Bxe3 10 Qxe3 b6 11 O-O-O O-O-O 12 f4 Bg4 13 Rxd8+ Qxd8 14 h3 Be6 15 Ba6+ He tried to do something with his light Bishop, I initiated Rook exchange and push his Bishop away and then penetrate into his castle with my light Bishop. Now Rook went on d1 mastering this line and preparing stage for attack. Kb8 16 Rd1 Qe7 17 e5 h5 18 Qe4 Bd7 19 a3 Nh6 20 b4 Bc8 I tried to prevent his Knight from developing then he wanted to get rid off my dangerous light Bishop. I also pushed b Pawn forward trying to remove one of his c Pawns which prevent Knight form going forward. 21 Bxc8 Rxc8 22 Qxc6 f6 23 Rd7 Qe8 24 Nb5 He moved f Pawn instead to defend here and gave me big opportunity to move Rook to d7. He tried to be smart with his Queen here, but my Knight came. Now I attack c7 Pawn with 3 pieces and he protected it with two. Worse for him it is check mate threat. I don't know if he could defend himself at this point. He tried something with his Knight. My Knight was far more dangerous and I removed hid c7 Pawn. Nf5 25 Nxc7 Qxd7 26 Na6# I think check mate was inevitable at this stage. He tried to sacrifice Queen for Rook, but I check mated him in effective way with Knight at a6. Check mate! If you want to track entire game it is here. It was nice little short game to regain rating of 1800. Remember this is rapid 10 minutes amateur play.
