Smiriti Mandhana,the dashing opener from Mumbai, was in a belligerent mood as she smashed her way to  19-balls 52*to help her side western storm beat loughbourgh lighting by 18 runs in the KIE super league in a ran reduced six  overs at Taunton. In the process she equalid the record for the fastest half century in wonens t20.

The left hander performed exceedingly well to take storms to a total of 85 in the alloted overs. In reply, loughborough lighting scored 67 runs without any loss. But fell short by 18 runs in the final analysis. Newzeeland's  captain Sophie Devin, who opened the batting from lighting made 46 runs of 21 balls but it wasn't enough to take her team beyond the finishing line. 

Destructive mood, during match procession. 

Mandhana was in destructive mood as she opened her account with a six and added five boundaries and three more maximums in her quick fire innings. She is the first Indian to have joined the KSL  and is now a joint record holder for the fastest 50 in the women's t20.
