Good Morning to all, IPL is in final week where in a few days we will get to see that who will lift the trophy of IPL 2019 season. we have seen many times that favorite teams are performing very bad in playoffs or final and here we got to see in the yesterday match between CSK and MI in first play-offs so let discuss that match in details.
We all know Dhoni is a world-class player and one of the greatest captain too but in this year we get to see some different behavior in him because of his captaincy and his team approach which we did not get to see before which is like surprising. we have seen him came on the pitch and argue with an umpire which is not suited to his personality because he is always cool and never did this kind of thing ever before. he also not look as cool as before and I have some doubt in yesterday matches too.
Chennai pitch is mostly spinner friendly, Dhoni has chosen to bat instead of bowling after winning toss which is a little surprise for everyone. also some doubt in team selection too as to why Watson and Bravo still in the team as not performing continuously. if there are two openers than why chose three openers. also, they can play an extra spinner Santnar who already performed well but not get places in the team which is one of the reason too. Dhoni generally gives bowling to spinner while a pitch is turning but he gave bravo to bowl in middle overs which is a very poor decision because it's easy to bat against medium pacer as well as Bravo is not in the form so its an easy to bat against him.
in yesterday's match, batting order also not very good because good batsman gets less ball to play which means most of the balls played by those batsmen who were not in good form which cost them a lot with lower total only 131 runs. as we saw how much bowl turn of Rahul Chahar in second over, its clear signal that its a turning pitch so Dhoni must need to come up the order but he not came and others batsmen were playing much defensive cricket. Dhoni also not started with two spinners because of a low target, if someone can back them into the game is only spinners but he wants to go with the fast bowler and also in middle overs he gave bowling to bravo instead of Jadeja and Tahir even they were in form and their bowls were turning.
CSK poor batting form is continuous and each time Dhoni can't help his team to the win every match. CSK's batting performance is very poor in this season compared to last season. Dhoni's blind trust on Watson and Bravo may not allow him to win IPL this time because can't wait for more magic so it's better to make some changes in the team otherwise they can't win matches.
CSK did slow start as both openers Watson and Du Plessis out early so all pressure comes to middle order where we got surprised changes as Vijay came before Rayudu and Dhoni. CSK was playing with 6 runs per over which is very slow in T20. It's a turning pitch so difficult for the batsman to play a shot but Dhoni showed his class that how to play on this pitch. CSK only able to make 131 runs. Rahul Chahar did good bowling as took 2 important wickets and gave 14 runs in his spell.
Mumbai was chasing small total but it's difficult on turning pitch so their plan was score more runs again pacer but they also lose their both openers early so they were under pressure but Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan made a good partnership and scored runs quickly on this slow pitch. Once Their took 2 wickets in 2 bowls and look like they were back in the match but Surya Kumar Yadav was in hurry to finish the match and let his team to victory easily. MI beat CSK by 6 wickets and book a ticket of final straightly where CSK has one more chance for final. Surya Kumar Yadav was named man of the match for his unbeaten 71.
