Yesterday the Indian team won the second T20 match of the three-match series between India and New Zealand levelling the series at one all. It was a good day for the visitors as they played some adventurous shots and got away with them without getting dismissed. Two stunning shots were played by the wicketkeeper-batsman in the Indian team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and young Rishab Pant. These two shots were the cynosure of all the eyes who watched the match. However, we cannot neglect to mention Vijay Shankar’s throw from wide mid-off which got a run out for India. he sent Ross Taylor back to the pavilion with that throw.

The first eye-catching shot was splayed by Rishab Pant which cleared the ropes for a six. He played the shot with only one hand on the handle of the bat. It was Tim Southee who was bowling that over and India needed 21 runs to win the match with seven wickets in hand. That is a shot that is worth watching. After playing that shot MS Dhoni walked up to him and advised him not to play risky shots as the target was well within India’s grasp. But playing such shots is nothing new to Rishab Pant. He is used to playing such shots in the Indian Premier League where the bowlers always feel that they have a chance to get him out. His forty run innings will really endear him to the fans and the selectors will hopefully include him in the ODI squad for the World Cup.

The second astonishing shot was played by India’s current wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. It shows Dhoni’s excellent presence of mind to escape from being given out. Ish Sodhi was bowling the over and Dhoni came down the track to attack the bowler. The bowler seeing that the batsman was stepping out of the crease, bowled a ball that would have been declared a wide. But Dhoni, realising that he would be stumped if he missed connecting with the ball, played a bizarre one-handed shot that sent the ball towards point and he got a run for his efforts. We must realise here that Dhoni is a wicketkeeper himself. How could he succumb to such a trick?

Vijay Shankar's throw from wide mid-off was a stunner which got Ross Taylor out. Bhuveneshwar Kumar, the Indian pace bowler bowled a ball which Ross Taylor played towards Vijay Kumar. The fieldsman picked the ball cleanly and threw the ball to the non-striker’s end. The ball hit the stumps after bouncing on the stump once and got the batsman run out. Luckily Bhuveneshwar Kumar did not attempt to collect the ball. If he had done so Taylor would have made his ground. That was a big wicket for India.

This is the the three piece of moments which were most liked by all cricketing fans. Moreover, The Series has leveled by 1-1 and the third and the final match will be played tomorrow at 12:30 PM according to Indian standard time.
