The outcome of the test match of India and WI has come very early. India got the massive win over West Indies. Usually, the test matches used to play till four or 5 days but above board performance of the Indian team has produced the result within three days. In this match, everything goes according to India. There was no chance for West Indies to do come back in this match.
Match Analysis-
India did bat first and scored and gave a target like a mountain to West Indies. Indian team scored 649 runs in two days with the loss of 9 wickets. Three of the Indian team batsmen achieved 100 or 100+ runs. This is really very very good for any team. The team opened Prithvi shaw shows awesome performance and hits century in debut test. He gave a good start for India and that start turned into victory. After that Captain, Virat Kohli also scored the century. I wondered when Ravindra Jadeja was also able to reach the milestone of hundred. Apart from this two Indian players scored 80+ runs. Thus, the Indian team was able to give a target like a mountain.
WI team did batting yesterday. Both of there openers went for the pavilion in few time. Indian medium pacer Shami notched up initial wickets and breaks the backbone of West Indies. After that, Indian spin bowlers attack became dagger. Ashwin, one of the most famous spin bowlers of India, took the wicket of Sai Hope. WI team went under pressure as three of their wickets down very quickly. Only a single batsman Chase scored a half-century for his team. WI team scored 181 runs in the first inning. Ashwin became the most successful bowler in this match. He notched 4 wickets in this innings.
Indian team invited West Indies to play again their second inning. In the second inning again Brathwaite went pavilion very early. This time Ashwin took his wicket. Second opener, Powell, played very well and scored magnificent 83 runs. But none of the other players of WI was able to do the good partnership with Powell. Gradually all wickets went down at regular intervals. The whole team out at the score of 196 runs. In this match, Kuldeep Yadav was the player who grab the wicket of half WI team. He notched up five wickets in the second innings.
Thus, the final result came and India got enormous victory over the WI. Indian team got victory by an Inning and 272 runs.
Reasons behind this victory-
Indian team has always been very strong on the home ground. So here Indian team got the advantage of being home ground.
Indian pitches are slow and Spinners are successful on these kinds of pitches, as we can see in both innings spinner Ashwin and Kuldeep prooved himself dangerous. However, WI pitches have not characteristics of Indian pitches.
Lack of experience in cricket also another cause for the WI. Indian selectors have sent the second team of India on which 5 main players have been given rest by selectors.
Lack of financial support from board given to team players. Also, I have heard many times that everything is not well in the. Indies cricket board. Because of these many star players of WI, leaving the team and some good players kicked out from the team because of bad politics of board. I have remembered that tour of India, WI players refuse to play cricket after playing some matches of the tournament in India for monetary and other supports.
Neither the batsmen nor the bowlers could do well.
