It was the first match for both Steve Smith and David Warner after their ban in international cricket. Warner had proved his class as an opener against Afghanistan with his unbeaten inning on the other side Steve Smith showed his performance on the field while doing run out. Without them, Australia can't able to win the match as both are the senior player of the team.

Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin Naib winning the toss and elected to bat first which was the wrong decision for them and also they knew that if Australia team will bat first then there will be a high total on the board and team can't able to chase a target. The Australian team have to chase just 208 runs in 50 overs and they have top opener Skipper Aaron Finch and David Warner and both gave a good start for the team and Aaron Finch back to pavilion after playing an inning of 66 runs but David Warner remains on the crease and played an 89 runs innings and with that They win the match with 7 wickets left.
