India is currently playing a home series again West Indies and is very well on course for a series victory. West Indies were demolished in the first test, giving India their biggest test victory till date.

India was on top right from the start when Shaw got a blistering hundred (134 off 154) on debut. Shaw scored runs at a very quick rate and ensured that the middle-order could capitalize on such a good start. The skipper, Virat Kohli scored a hundred (139 off 230) on a track that was slow in nature but assisting the spinners. While Rahane couldn't get a big score, Jadeja did as got his maiden century in test cricket and that was a very special moment for him. India scored a mammoth 649 and West Indies couldn't cross 200 in both the innings. The bowlers did the job and ensured that India got a comprehensive win.

India absolutely crushed West Indies.

When it comes to overseas, bowling often does the job for India but the batting more often than not messes it up. This series provides a platform for the team to regain confidence after a disastrous tour of England. It will be an important series for a few players. Let's have a look at 5 players to watch out for, in the second test.

5. Kuldeep Yadav

The mystery man.

Kuldeep had a good outing in Rajkot where he picked up a fifer. Kuldeep is still a mystery for many and picking up a Chinaman is always tough. The Australian pitches are expected to assist spinners as the test progresses. Kuldeep's performance in this test will give an idea about his consistency in longer runs and could prove to be a selection factor once the Australian tour gets underway.

4. Ravindra Jadeja

Jadeja has been in scintillating form off-late. It all started when he took the field in the fifth test against England and delivered a near about match-winning performance. He translated his performances into limited overs success when he was called in for the Asia Cup as a back-up. In the first test, he scored his maiden hundred in International cricket and picked up 4 wickets in total. Jadeja's fielding was never in doubt but his batting and bowling have got a new lease of life and it remains to be seen if he can continue his present run of form.

3. Umesh Yadav

Back in the test squad after a long time, Umesh has got a lot to prove. It can be said that the constant chopping and changing has deterred his confidence but it's for a good. Earlier Umesh used to bowl at 140+ and at erratic lines and lengths. Umesh has dropped his pace by a bit and is working on his line and length. If he finds his rhythm, he can prove to be lethal for the Australian batsmen. Umesh has to be at his very best if he wants to take the field in Adelaide.

2. KL Rahul

The talented opener from Karnataka needs to prove his worth. He had a bad tour of England and even though the stats might suggest that it was pretty average. It wasn't. His total tally was 299 runs and 149 of them came in the fifth test. One cannot judge a player based on one test. So far, KL hasn't fulfilled the promise that he showed us in his early days. KL Rahul needs to come good in this test lest he might not be on the trip to Australia.

Prithvi Shaw

The selectors made a big statement when they decided to go with Shaw over Dhawan. Shaw has shown us already what he's capable of. But still, he's only an inning old in International cricket and is yet to face challenges. Keaton Jennings too, got a century on debut but he has vanished since then. Shaw might be a good player but he has a long way to go. Consistency is the key to success in Australia and he can be judged to an extent, based on how he performs in this test. He has some big shoes to fill as he came in place of Dhawan in this series.
