That same year, he managed to get up to 1, 470 runs. That number of runs was enough to make sure that he would set yet another record. This time, he would be recognized as the only English cricket player to have that number of runs in a year. Since the very beginning. The formal record which was set in stone before was 777 which was achieved by Matt Prior.

He would start his playing career from the very bottom when he played in the second XI for his club Yorkshire. However, after stunning the world with his 308 runs that he made, he was deemed good enough to be in the club’s first team and was subsequently called up. His debut in the international team would come in 2011 when he played for England in an ODI match that took place in India. Throughout his career for his international side, he has been named as man of the match on various occasions and against different teams. These would include the West Indies and India. This would also spread to the T20 franchise. His debut in the Test series was against the West Indies.

His performances for his country were rewarded when he was chosen to represent the country in the ICC World Cup and represent them, he surely did.
