The fast bowlers are often some of the most admired players in cricket. Their role too is unique. It has always been said that a team with a great bowler would always stand a chance. For New Zealand, they have a bowler which is present in the top ten bowlers in the world of cricket. At least, according to the ICC. That bowler would none other than Matt Henry. With his games for his country becoming much consistent in recent times, it has surely led to the rise in his popularity. Who is Matt Henry?

Matt Henry plays for New Zealand. He was born on the 14th day of December 1991. This leaves him at 28 years of age. He currently plays for his cub Canterbury as well as his country in what has surely been a great career so far. He is often described by the media and people that know the name pretty well as a fast-medium bowler. Combined this with the fact that he is right-handed and you have a pretty decent player on your hands. He is also a tall player as he stands well above 6 feet which would surely not be a cause of comfort for his opponents.

When it comes to education, he also had a great education as he eventually ended his studies in England where he went for his 6th form study. Since the year 2011, his club has been Canterbury in his home town where he first made his debut against Wellington. Since then, he has also managed to play for Worcestershire for a short period in the year 2016 and also tried on Derbyshire for some time soon. Right now, he plays for Kent after confirming that he would stay at the club at the end of the season.

International Scene

His international stage for New Zealand started in the game against India which was an ODI. He would also make his debut in the T20 series when he played against Pakistan. For him, one of his biggest highlights in the game would the finals of the Cricket World Cup in 2015. In this game, he was simply on fire and ended up taking wickets from Warner and Clarke in what would be a performance that he can hardly forget.

One of the records which he holds would be the ninth partnership for wickets for his country in the ODI formats. This was a total of 84 runs which he made in a partnership. That record was formed in 2016 against India.
