Virat Kohli who is leading team India presently slipped from No.1 in this year's ICC (International Cricket Council) list of ranking for batsmen to the second slot. He lost his position to earlier Australian captain Steve Smith who as of now is facing a one year ban in the ball tamerpring case that took place in a match they played against South Africa earlier this year.

Due to India's extremely poor performance against England and it's one sided defeat many Indian players have dropped down to lower rankings but there are some exceptions.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the players who made an exception. He has jumped up to 57th rank from 67th rank in the list of ranking for batsmen. He has also jumped ahead of South Africa's Vernon Philander to grab the third slot in the list of all rounders

Another exception is India's Hardik Pandya who has managed to get to 74th rank in the list of ranking for bowlers.
