Week four of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 just came to a close, and intensity picks up as teams from the cricketing countries hastily switch between the top spots. We all know India, New Zealand, Australia and England have been known to be key players in this game. And with how things went down in the past matches, I think it’s safe to say that we’re already seeing how the top four is going to look like.
But how has the event progressed so far? If you’re placing wagers on this highly-participated sports event, this short cricket betting guide might help shape your betting decisions.
A total of 32 matches have been played, and here are the current standings:
- Australia
- New Zealand
- India
- England
- Bangladesh
- Pakistan
- Sri Lanka
- West Indies
- South Africa
- Afghanistan
The table pretty much looks the same as how experts predicted it. And in case you need a refresher on how the ICC event works, the 10 teams engage in matchups over the course of the Cricket World Cup in a full round robin format. After a total of 45 matches have been played, the top four teams will go straight into the knockout stage to claim the throne as 2019 Cricket World Cup Champions.
Now let’s talk about the most probable top four.
The defending champs, Australia, who’s an obvious contender this year holds the strongest World Cup record with five championship titles. The powerhouse country has performed well in almost all of the matches, save for that one lost run against India which slightly stained their winning streak.
The Blackcaps of New Zealand inches very closely to Australia as the second best team so far.
Losing only one of seven matches and consistently proving themselves as cricket giants over the years, they’re definitely securing their spot in the finals and have great potential to overthrow the champs.
India has the team to watch out for, and it’s easily becoming a bettor’s favorite especially in bitcoin betting. Why so? It’s because India managed to defeat two of the above major teams in their first two matches, and struck out its major rival Pakistan in the last game.
Despite being one of the Cricket World Cup best teams, England was quite a let down this year. The heavy favorite host country got a lot of hype and was considered to be a shoo-in to win the trophy but their last couple of matches proved otherwise, especially that unexpected defeat against Sri lanka by 20 runs. But overall still a team to beat once they start to regain their strong position.
