South Africa have started with a win today at Perth, Australia in a 3 matches ODI series and lead the series by 1-0. The visitor team recorded an easy 6 wicket victory in the first one day international. The visitor South Africa will now have a chance to seal the series in the next match which will be played at Adelaide on November 9, 2018.

South Africa won the toss and decided to field first. Travis Head and Aaron Finch started the batting for the home side while 35 years old pace bowler Dale Steyn opened the bowling for South Africa. Australia's top order batsmen struggled with Proteas pace attack and lost their opening three wickets in just 8 runs. Dale Steyn took the advantage of bouncy pitch and caused the early damages to Austrailia. He picked up the two important wickets of Travis Head and D'Arcy Short within first 6 overs, while his bowling partner Lungi Ngidi removed another opener, Aaron Finch. After that Australia tried to build up a partnership however they failed again and again. They were at 66 for 6 in the 21st over and eventually lost their all wicket for just 152 runs in 39th over. Nearly 25,000 fans were present at Perth Stadium to support their team. Australia's best partnership stood for just 28 runs between Chris Lynn and Alex Carey for the fourth wicket. For Australia, Alex Carey scored 33 runs and calender Coulter Nile scored 34 runs while no other batsmen score over 20 runs. In a complete pace bowler show, Dale Steyn took 2 wickets spending 18 runs in his 7 overs and was awarded man of the match for his bowling contribution. While other pace bowler Phehlukwayo took 3 wickets giving 33 runs and Lungi Ngidi took 2 wickets conceding 26 runs. The spinner Imran Tahir also took 2 wickets in his 9 overs.

In an easy run chase, Proteas openers Quinton De Kock and Reeza Hendricks stood the opening partnership of 94 runs. Both openers missed out on half centuries before South Africa chase the target on 29th over, De Kock lost his wicket for 47 runs while Hendricks lost his wicket for 44 runs. Aiden Makram added 36 runs to help South Africa reach even close to the target. The captain Faf du Plessis played scored not out 10 runs. For Australia, medium pace bowler Marcus Stonis took 3 wickets on his 4 overs and pace bowler Nathan Coulter Nile took 1 wicket.

After losing the former captain Steve Smith and David Warner from international cricket for 12 months on a ball tempering incident during a test match in Cape Town, Australia has been struggling with their batting and produced the series of bad result lately. They have now lost 17 ODI matches in past 19 ODI matches.
