After soccer/football, Cricket is one of the second most interesting sports for me. When I was in my high school, we used to talk about different records and facts on cricket among my friends(along with soccer). Going shortly into history, it was invented in England by Shepherds, and first ever cricket match was played in 1760. It is played in different formats, and most popular among them are T-20 International, One Day International Cricket, and Test matches. I might write about how different formats are played in future articles. For today you will be reading "Top 10 Interesting Records in Cricket That’ll Blow Your Mind".

  • You might have heard about different success in the player's birthday. Here is one although hattrick in cricket is very rare. Peter Siddle is the only cricketer to take a hat-trick on his birthday in International Cricket. He was successful to get a hat-trick in Brisbane Test against England on November 25, 2010.
  •  What is your biggest achievement when you were 14? Pakistani cricketer Hasan Raza holds the record for the youngest debutant in test cricket when he was just 14 years and 277 days old for Pakistan in a match against Zimbwawe. Some other young debutants in test cricket are Mushtaq Mohammad in 15 years and 124 days old, Mohammed Sharif in 15 years and 189 days.

  • We talked about the youngest cricketer, but who is the oldest cricketer to play the cricket. The record goes to Wilfred Rhodes from England who played test cricket as the most aged player. Rhodes was 52 years and 165 days old when he played the last test match against West Indies. He played for England in 58 test matches in his career. If you don’t know what maiden over is, it is when a bowler doesn’t concede any runs in his allocated bowling over (1 over has 6 balls). This cracking record came in a match against England during the test match in 1963-64. He managed 27 maiden overs He had played 41 test matches, and he has the economy of fewer than two runs per over in his whole career.
  • “Master Blaster” Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for 100 centuries in International Cricket. He is considered as one of the greatest ever cricketers and even worshipped as a God in India. The player behind him is Ricky Pointing with 71 centuries. Sachin also holds the record for scoring maximum nineties with 28 90’s in international cricket. He is also the first cricketer to score double centuries in ODI.

  • It is strange for any player to play continuously without suffering a long-term injury. But it is not the case for Australian cricketer Allan Border who holds the record for playing most consecutive test matches. Test matches are played for 5 long days. In his career, he played 153 test matches without missing any matches.
