Hello Scorumians,

In today, I am presenting an inspirational moment about the life of Devika Vaidya, who plays for the Indian women's cricket team…

Devika's full name is Devika Purnendu Vaidya, who was born on August 13, 1997, Pune, Maharashtra. While children of 6 years old are busy memorizing math memories or are fascinated by Barbie or Disney, Devika Vaidya was already interested in cricket. Devika pretended to be the boy to play for the Indian cricket team, remembering for us the people familiar with “Dil Bole Hadippa”, how Rani Mukherjee had pretended to be a boy so that he could play cricket. At the age of 7, a girl named Devika Vaidya did the same thing in Pune. He bumped his hair well under the cap to impersonate a boy and play cricket. This was because women cricket was still a less encouraged game.

After starting his journey at an early age, till the age of 12, he was under the Maharashtra U-19 team and one year later in the senior team. Devika was appreciated for the fertility of a child at the age of 15. In the middle of the teenager, he was leading India Green and was named the best junior female cricketer by the BCCI. Former Maharashtra player and coach Godbole says, "Her attitude is her strength." As a child, he was in both cricket and taekwondo. He also won a black belt for his kingdom.

Thankfully, he did not even leave his studies. He is currently doing the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration. Devika says that leaving a study as a child will be silly, and there is a thoughtful explanation for it. Devika believes that playing with the boys helps improve their fitness and that is why they are so fast on the field.

Finally, I want to say that, their journey has not been so easy, but it is definitely an inspiration for many girls who want to take cricket.
