Kolkata after defeating Rajasthan Royals, now they are top of the table in Indian premier league ranking with 4 wins from 5 matches. The match between Rajasthan and Kolkata was played on Sunday night at the home ground of Rajasthan Royals. Apart from this Rajasthan royal facing problem in the middle order as they are missing a Sanju Samson as he is injured.
After winning the toss Kolkata skipper Dinesh Kartik decided to field first. So, Ajinkiya Rahane and Jos Buttler come to open the innings for Rajasthan but Ajinkiya Rahane fails to score runs and they lose their first wicket at 5 in the second over of the inning of Prasidh Krishna. Later on, Jos Buttler and Steve Smith continue the inning forward with 6 run rate. Now it was looking impossible for Rajasthan to cross 150 runs.
Rajasthan team is able to score just 139 runs. Kolkata knights riders destructive opener Chris Lyn and Sunil Narine both played a knock of 50 and 47 runs respectively. Now, only 40 runs were needed in 11 overs which was easy for the rest of the batsman to chase the target. Both gave a team a strong start which helped the team to win the match.
Sunil Narine scored 22 runs in the second over of Gautham. The pitch was helpful for bowlers but the way Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn played they deserve to win the match. After their wickets fell Robin Uthappa and Shubman gill come to chase the target. The team were brilliant is batting as well as bowling as their restrict the host team under 150 and their top order gives a good start.
Kolkata knights riders chase the target in just 14 rates and so with the 6 overs remaining they are at too of the table with 4 wins from 5 matches they played this season. Harry Gurney with his excellent spell with taking 2 wickets in conceding just 25 runs in his 4 overs helped him to become a man of the match.
