On the second day of Indian premier league, there was a high voltage match which was played between Kolkata knights riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In this match Opener David Warner back to the team after a 1 years banned and he had missed the previous season of Indian premier league due to ball tampering against South Africa last year. With the support from Jonny Bairstow they had a 90 runs partnership for a 1st wicket and so they hope for a big total on the board. But their middle order once again fails to score runs and so don't reach a huge target.
After losing a toss Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman once again get a good start as their skipper was out due to a shoulder injury and he was unavailable in the second match of the IPL. Their middle order, Yusuf Pathan, Manish Pandey both struggled to hit a boundary and so they able to reach at just 181 runs in 20 overs. If the team try to score a big score then it was easy for them because they even get a good start and also Vijay Shankar played a brilliant inning to reach the score above average.
while chasing for 182 runs Kolkatta knights riders opener Sunil Narine was injured while bowling and so instead of him Nitish Rana comes to open the innings along with Chris Lynn. But, Chriss Lynn got out in the powerplay in the bowling of Shakib and so pressure comes to Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana and they played steady innings and on side of Nitish Rana wickets were falling. Moreover, Russell came to strike when the team needed 18 rs per over and he did the job as a finisher along with gill to win the match. with this performance, he was appointed as a man of the match.
On the same day, there was one more match which was played between Mumbai Indians and Delhi capital. As Mumbai Indian skipper Rohit Sharma wins the toss and elected to field. Mumbai team have a great name in their team but Delhi capital was having a young player in his team. Delhi does not get a good start but Dhawan and Ingram played a great inning to cross 80 runs on the board and they depart before pant shows his show. Rishabh pant came to crease with thunder as he was playing with a 300 strike rate which was so much for any player.
Rishabh pant played an innings of 78 runs which include of 7 sixes and 7 boundaries which helped Delhi capital to cross 200 runs. So for chasing a target of 200 plus runs is difficult to any team and so due to pressure Mumbai Indian whole team departs back to pavilion and no batsman able to score good runs. Accept Yuvraj Singh no other batsman was in excellent form. Due to this Mumbai Indian suffers a loss at their home ground in their first match of Season 12.
