Hello friends! Hardly two months remain before the IPL kicks off. As we all know the IPL auction was conducted in December. There has been some shuffling of players between the teams as some old players were released by their franchises and others bought them at the auction. Today we are going to talk about the strengths of the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
The MS Dhoni-led CSK team is the most successful team in the IPL and has won the IPL title three times. However, the Chennai Super Kings did not participate in the competition for two seasons. But last year they captured the trophy and their chances of winning this year are also quite high.
Having many international superstars make the team strong as compared to the others. This year too they have many quality all-rounders as well as good batsmen among their ranks. Dhoni himself is a good cricketer and a good batsman. There is absolutely no doubt about his captaincy and leadership qualities. Considering the form that he has been in as a batsman in Australia and in New Zealand, he is all set to go this IPL season.
Faf Du Plessis is one of the best soldiers in the CSK camp. He is a right-hand batsman and is the captain of the South African National team. He provides good strength to the middle order and can also turn his arm around as a part-time bowler. Shane Watson is also a part of the CSK team. There is no doubt that Shane Watson is among the greatest all-rounders in the world. Being an aggressive player naturally, he has the ability to make the big hits and collect runs fast when the need arises. Another all-rounder in the team is Ravindra Jadeja. His presence fortifies the team in both the bowling and the batting departments. Kedar Jadhav, who is good form, is another all-rounder who can certainly pull his weight with the bat and can bowl too. Apart from these outstanding players, there are Harbhajan Singh, Dwayne Bravo, Murali Vijay and Mitchell Santner.
The strength of CSK is that they have plenty of choices when selecting their batsmen. As we know, the IPL, played in the T20 format places a lot of emphasis on good batsmen. CSK have many attacking batsmen in their line-up and a variety of bowlers. They can vary their playing eleven depending on the pitch conditions and on the team they are playing. These players have the capability to change the game on its head within a few overs.
The Key strength of CSK, they have long batting option. As you know IPL is the game overly inclined towards the batsman. CSK have long batting line up with very attacking batsmen. They have many all-rounders who can bowl and bat both that make their batting line up strong and increase the variety of bowling. These all have the ability to change the game at any time.
