The Indonesian Cricket Association (PCI) Central Board is not disappointed that the cricket failed to compete as one of the sports in the Asian Games 2018 which took place in Jakarta and Palembang from 18 August 2018. PCI is now focusing on including athletes to their various championships.

According to PCI Chairman Aziz Syamsudin, his side will now include athletes to compete in six countries. All of this is discussed in the PCI PCI Rakernas held in Jakarta on Sunday and Monday (26/2/2018). "In this national meeting, we set the agenda that will compete in six countries," Aziz told reporters on Sunday (25/2/2018).

"There are some championships like in Thailand where we will depart March 4. Then there are also international championships in Bali on March 30 and the South Korean Incheon championships in July or August. All athletes who canceled at the Asian Games will be included in the championship in Incheon South Korea, "he said, adding.

PCI is targeting a medal at the Cricket World Cup later. "Or at least we can penetrate the top 5 world rankings where our ranking is currently 29th," he said. All this is intended as preparation for the ICC Cricket World Cup or Cricket World Cup which will take place in Wales and England 2019.
