An inquest in Australia has found that cricketer Phillip Hughes’s death after being hit in the head by a bouncer was not the fault of the bowler – or the rules of the sport - but was a tragic accident caused by the batsman’s “miniscule misjudgement”.

Michael Barnes, a coroner in the state of New South Wales, concluded that the death of the 25-year-old after an Australian state match in 2014 was not caused by sledging by the opposing team or by any deficiency in Hughes’s helmet.
