History of Cricket World Cup started with the introduction of the Cricket World Cup in 1975. The first major tournament that was held in England. The World Cup name was the Prudential World Cup.

Short History :

The first Test match was played in 1877 between Australia and England. Cricket was included in the 1900 Summer Olympics. Great Britain lost France by 158 runs.Then the International Olympic decided to drop the cricket game.

As the international cricket competition, the first attempt was made to organize a three-nation tournament in 1912. At that time, test cricket competition with three countries - England, Australia and South Africa - became confused due to adverse weather and visitors' absence. There was no attempt on experimental later. Since then, these teams related to the International Cricket Council have become bicameral and have opposed the League against the competition or the two countries.

In the early 1960s, the English teams in the county cricket were involved in a short version of cricket which was only a day's time. In 1962, the midlands knock-out championship with 4-team started and the 1963 Gillette Cup started. In the order of one day cricket popularity continued to rise. In 1969 a national league called the Sunday League was organized.

Test match between England and Australia in Melbourne in 1971 was inappropriate for four days due to rain. The one-day international game was organized for the first time on the final day of the scheduled and fifth day. The authorities decided to organize forty overs in order to cope with the excitement of the audience. Then it was considered to be one over 8-over.

The international cricket council authorities felt the need to host the Cricket World Cup in the context of organizing one-day competition in home-based countries in England and other countries, including capitalizing on the success and popularity.

Prudential World Cup: Prudential World Cup Trophy

 Men's Cricket World Cup competition was held in England in 1975 for the first time. The main reason there was enough facilities in the country as the only Test-categorized country. The first three competitions, known as Prudential Cup, are known by the financial support of Prudential Private Limited company. The games were 60-over and the teams played with traditional style white dress and red balls. All the games are held day-by-day. Australia, England, West Indies, Pakistan, India and New Zealand in the first tournament - the six Test nations, and East Africa teams, including Sri Lanka, participate. South Africa has not been able to participate due to the ban on international sports. In the final match, the West Indies beat Australia by 17 runs to win the trophy.

The next two World Cups were held in England in 1979 and again in 1983. In the year 1979, ICC trophy was introduced for the first time around the World Cup. In this competition only Sri Lanka and Canada are excluded from Test cricket for the World Cup. West Indies defeated England by 92 runs to win the title again. During the World Cup, the ICC decided to host the World Cup every four years at a meeting.

The 1983 World Cup competition was consistently held in England for the third time. In this competition, the Sri Lankan team takes part as a test-taker. Zimbabwe team gets the chance to play in the World Cup by winning the ICC Trophy. West Indies defeated West Indies by 43 runs in the final match and caused the trick for the first time. The probability of winning the World Cup in India at the start of the contest was 1:66.
