Chris Lynn was lucky as the bails didn't come off when he was cleaned up by Kulkarni.

KKR opted to bowl first on a pitch which appeared to be slow. And this decision did wonders as they restricted RR to a below par total of 139. Steve Smith was the only one from the hosts who looked rock solid as he scored 73.

On the contrary KKR openers were off to a flier. Narine made 47 in quick time. Lynn brought up his 50 quickly too. Robbiee Uthappa struck some lusty blows and with 8 wickets still in hand, KKR won with 6 overs to spare.

However it is interesting to note that how both sides approached the powerplay. RR could only manage 28 for loss of one wicket. KKR on the other hand scored 65 for no loss.

Harry Gurney who made his IPL debut took 2 wickets and was Man of the Match.
