MI initially didn't get going as they lost 3 wickets in the form of de Kock, Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj when the score was merely 50 runs. Krunal Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav started to rebuild the innings playing some delightful strokes.

Krunal Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav after playing fine knocks of 42 and 59 respectively got dismissed. From there on it was Hardik Pandya and Pollard show. They scored 45 of the last 2 overs and slightly tilted the momentum in their favour.

171 was a stiff target and CSK fell short by 37 runs. They lost both their openers in a quick succession. Jason Behendorff took two crucial wickets of Rayudu and Suresh Raina.. The wicket of Raina actually belonged to Pollard who took an absolute screamer at the boundary ropes.

MS Dhoni too departed scoring just 12 off 20 balls. Jadeja and Kedar Jadhav who scored 58 too departed. Ftom there-on it was a mwre formality to finish the match. Eventually MI beat the visitors and got their second win of the tournament.
