He has bowled the opening over of the Tournament. Becoming the first spinner to open a Tournament. Imran Tahir also became the oldest player to represent South Africa at the World Cup at the age of 40 years and 64 days. He has 164 wickets in ODIs with a best bowling of 7/45.
He bowled a superb first over giving away just a run and taking the wicket of Johnny Bairstow. He ended up with 2/61. He also had an amazing IPL tournament picking 26 wickets in 17 outings and earning the Purple Cap.
With him hitting a purple patch in his career, let's hope he has an amazing Tournament and helps South Africa in lifting the World Cup for the first time!
