BCCI have announced that the U19 Men’s Quadrangular tournament in India in September 2018 will be held from Sep 12th – 18th, 2018 in Lucknow instead of Kolkata as earlier speculated in the media, prior to U19 ACC (Asian Cricket Council) Asia Cup scheduled to take place in Sep/Oct 2018 in Bangladesh. The tournament will be played in the 50-overs format.
BCC has organized a u19 men's quadrangular tournament in India from sep 12th to 18th. This tournament is organised as the prior to U19 ACC Asia Cup 2018, which is going to start in Bangladesh.
In this tournament four teams are playing against each other. They are
- Afghanistan U-19
- Nepal U-19
- India U-19 A
- India U-19 B
In the first round, India A defeated Afghanistan and in other matches India B defeated Nepal. In the second round today both Indian teams registered win against other teams.
India U-19 A and India U-19 B will play against each other in 16th and 18th December . Nepal U-19 and Afghanistan U-19 will also play against each other in 16th September and 18th september. The final of this Quadrangualr series will be between India U-19 A and India U-19 B.
Nepal U-19 and Afghanistan U-19 team are already out of title race, but I think this was the excellent opportunity for them to learn. They will play last two matches against each other.
It’s not time to criticizing our junior team. The truth is that we had no aim to win this tournament. The main target for us is to find the weakness and recover it in the upcoming Asia cup. BCCI has done great work, thank you BCCI for giving chance to Nepal U-19 team to play with other strong teams.
