5 more games have been completed in the Cricket World Cup meaning that we have to the end of round 2 of the Dream 11 Fantasy League.

Just a reminder that anyone is still welcome to join and while you would have to pull off some amazing selections to win one of the top 3 overall prizes of 100SCR, 50SCR & 20SCR respectively there are still plenty of opportunities to take the prizes on offer for the best scores of each round.

This week has seen big points scored for players who picked Mitchel Starc after he took 5 wickets against West Indies in this afternoon's game, Mohammed Hafeez who put in a fine all-round performance to help Pakistan defeat England and Rohit Sharma who scored a hundred as India got their campaign off to a winning start.

I've had a look through the points and tried to put together what I think is the "Dream 11" based on the various restrictions. So without further ado, this is Dream 11's actual Dream 11 in regards points scored on their system. How many do you have in your side?

The 3rd round begins tomorrow and as with round 2 there is a certain symmetry with 5 fixtures involving all 10 teams.

Top Tips - Are you using your free hits?

To be quite frank if you're not using them then you've got almost zero chance of scoring big enough points to take any prizes in this league.

Every round you get 3 free hits which can be used to boost the points players receive

Boost 1 - Star Skipper

This is probably the most straight forward one to use particularly in a round where all teams play only once. It trebles the number of points that your captain will get from a choosen match. Andre Russell was my captain in this round and he scored 35.5 points which were then multiplied by 3 so that I received 106.5 points, nice!

Boost 2 - Super Striker

Playing super striker for a choosen match means all the batsmen in your team will receive 3 bonus points for every boundary they score. The beauty of this boost is that you don't need to select an individual batsman, instead, you select an individual game and the boost is applied to all players in that game so if it's a high scoring affair you could rack up some serious points

Boost 3 - Bowling Machine

Bowling Machine works in very much the same way as Super Striker, except that instead of boosting runs it boost wickets so again choose a game where you have multiple bowlers and you could end up with a massive points boost if they all take wickets.

Remember

  • You can only play each free hit once per round
  • You can only play 1 free hit per game
  • Free hits can only be applied immediately before a game - they will become available the moment the proceeding game finishes and not before

Happy Boosting .........

Results for Round 2 and leaderboard

So a pretty good week for me scoring 537 points to top the leaderboard. Elsewhere Scorum Stars and Kritz11 both closed the gap on Danak blasters who are just 15 points off top spot themselves - it's pretty close up there!

Therefore prizes for this week go to

@crickettalk - 10SCR

Kritz11 - 5SCR

Kritz11 who are you? Please share your scorum username in the comments so I can send you the prize. If no one claims before the end of round 3 then i'll add it to the prize fund for that round.
