Yesterday England defeated India by 31 runs to win an enthralling test match. The win was a special one but did you know it was England's 1000th test match. Looks like a long journey. England is the first team in International cricket to achieve such a feat and witness it with a famous thrilling win over India. This will go down in history of test cricket as one of the best wins in England's test history.

Jimmy Anderson, it's almost impossible to keep him out of history books of cricket in England's history. One of the best swing bowlers in history of test cricket. He still has got it and doesn't seem to be fading away in near future. He's got highest number of test wickets in history of England cricket. With 544 wickets to his name, he is only few behind to Australian Glenn McGrath who has got 563 to his name to become the all time leading wicket taking fast bowler, that would be some achievement. He also has 25 five wicket hauls and is only behind to Ian bothom who has 27 five wicket hauls to his name.


The most number of ten wicket hauls for England is held by Sydney Barnes with 7 to his name. Among the wicket keepers, the most successful test wicket keeper has been Allan Knott with 269 dismissals. James sutherton holds the record for rebutting in test cricket at the age of 49 and Wilfred Rhodes is the oldest player to play at the age of 52.
