English men walked off the field with a standing ovation from the Lords. Teammates patting Chris Woakes on head & back for his efforts in the match and also celebrating the win.
The visitors faced the humiliation at the Lord's as the hosts defeated them by an innings and 159runs,which is a huge margin. The game was effectively played just 2 and a half days, which was enough for English men to defeat the men in blue. First day was washed out, but comming on second day, England won the toss in overcast weather conditions which was a fortune to them. They put the indian team team to bat first and wiped off them on a merge of just 107 on the board. James Anderson was the man for England with a five wicket haul, helping the team to restrict India on 107.
England in their innings posted a reasonable good score of 396/7 dec. Which put England very well ahead of india. England mannaged to post such a big total due to Chris Woakes and Jonny Baristow, with Woakes 137 notout from 177balls and Baristow's 93.After putting such a huge lead the English team declared their innings & put India to bat.
As India come to bat but the disastrous nightmare continued to them, as they lost the wickets quickly and continuesly. They only mannaged to score 130 on the baord, thus loosing the test by an innings and 159 runs. Anderson & broad eased the way for England victory by taking 4 wickets each. Anderson fell short of 1 wicket for a 10 wicket hall achievement at Lord's.
It was a disastrous day for the india, and the nightmare had come to end. Hope we will get good entertaining games ahead...............
