Many people did not know the name Virat Kohli before 2007 as he seemed like a chubby guy with hair gel who was mediocre at best. But the guy led his team of under 19 to the world cup finals during that year and the people knew that this was the making of a star.

Virat Kohli maybe the greatest Indian skipper, the Indian team ever had at a very young age. His career had many highlights that will eventually lead him into the Cricket world’s Hall of Fame one day. His achievements include being the only test Captain for India scoring 300 straight against Australia in his first 3 innings.

He won 19 of the 29 tests played, making him the most successful Indian skipper with a 65 percent win rate. He became the first Batsman in his late twenties scoring 4 double centuries in 4 straight test series.

He scored the fastest century with 52 balls in 2013 against Zimbabwe, taking a blow at Shewag’s record of attaining his century in 60 balls. He was the second ever batsman to reach his 25th ODI hundred in only 162 innings while the first person to ever do this was Hashim Amla with 152 innings. Most recently he completed his 1000 runs in 17 innings of an ODI match, whose record was previously held by Tendulkar.
