Hello everyone,

India could lose the chance to host the world cup for both T-20 and 50-50 overs format. ICC has pointed towards BCCI to compensate for the loss and in-completion of the conditions that were approved by both BCCI and ICC during 2016 T-20 world cup. T-20 world cup took place in India were West-Indies had clinched the T-20 trophy. According to the news, ICC has stated that BCCI had agreed to the tax deduction while T-20 world cup however the tournament doesn't receive any tax relief from the Government's end. Now ICC has warned the BCCI to give a total amount of INR 160 Crore for the loss that incurred in ICC T-20 2016 world cup due to no tax reduction.

BCCI is the new hot topic in the cricket world!

Recently BCCI has just won the case of compensation by PCB. PCB asked the BCCI for the compensation because of the loss that happened due to canceling the bi-lateral series between India and Pakistan that was supposed to take place in Dubai/Abu-Dhabi. And now ICC has asked for the same to compensate the loss of hosting T-20 in India back in 2016. ICC is concrete on its decision and there is very less chance of patching-up in between both ICC-BCCI on this loss.

What can go wrong here?

If BCCI failed to compensate for the given loss then India is likely to lose the chance of hosting 2023 world cup on its soil. The deadline for submitting the compensation amount is 31-Dec-2018.
Even if BCCI does not submit the compensation amount then ICC is likely to take a cut from the financial year 2019 of BCCI.
There are rumors that India can also lose the chance of hosting the 2021 T-20 World Cup.

But here is a catch!

BCCI has asked the ICC to submit the proof for the given case. Now it's clear that BCCI won't go away that easy as ICC have to submit the video footage where BCCI had said on tax reduction during 2016 T-20 World cup. The new year is going to witness a big clash between BCCI and ICC for the same case. BCCI is one of the richest cricket board of ICC however, there has been the clash between Virat Kohli and BCCI to increase the player's fees for the matches they play.

We have to wait for a while for the officials to clarify on the same and it is also going to be interesting to see how ICC will negotiate with BCCI.
