It's the first time in the history of Nepali cricket that two Nepali cricketers are selected to play the international T-20 tournament at the same time. There were a total of 1037 players in the draft from 42 countries. A total of 12 players from Nepal, 142 players from Canada, 28 players from USA, 6/6 players from Hongkong and Oman were also here in the draft. Players from associate nations like Malaysia, Scotland, Netherlands and Kenya were also in the draft. A total of 99 players from Nepal and 141 players from Pakistan were in the list as well.

In the last year draft, Sandeep, Sompal, Rohit Paudel and Dipendra Singh Airi were present but only Lamichhane was selected to play in the tournament. Sandeep was sold for 70 thousand dollar in the last edition.

In this season, Sompal is bought by toronto Nationals in 60 thousand dollar while Sompal is bought in 3 thousand dollar by Winnipeg Hawks. A team can pick 7 players from the test playing nations, 5 Canadian players and 5 players from associate nations.

Both the nepali players participated in the draft from Saya Corporation management team. The amount of money Sompal is getting may look low but once a player gets selected in the tournament like this, the future of the player depends on their performance in the league. Sompal is one of the top all rounder of Nepal who has batted in the opening slot as well as he is the bowling opener and he is sharp in the field. He has played 6 ODI matches for Nepal and 15 T-20i for Nepal. He has 146 runs under his name at an batting average of 36.5 and he took 17 wickets.

Toronto Nationals has selected Sandeep Lamichanne and Yuvraj Singh in their team. Players like Brendon McCullum, Pollard, Trent Bolt are also there in their team.

Winnipeg Hawks has selected Sompal Kami and Dwayne Bravo in their team.
