The quarterfinal matches for Lumbini Mayor cup Cricket Tournament has been started. The tournament has been sponsored by Youth Colabrity For Green Nepal, co-sponsored by Lumbini Kasai Cricket Club with the help of Lumbini Sanskritik Nagarpalika. The tournament has been held in the ground of Lumbini Buddha Adarsha School.
Ward No. 5 and Ward No. 6 has won the quarterfinal matches of the tournament. In the first match played, Ward No. 6 defeated Ward No. 12 by 9 wickets. Ward No. 12 lost the toss and they batted first. They were dismissed in 30 runs in 8.3 overs. Durgesh scored 12 runs. No other batsman could score in double figures. Rahman took 5 wickets, Istikar took 3 wickets and Manuwar took a wicket as well.
Chasing the target of 31 runs, Ward No. 6 reached the target in 3.3 overs losing 1 wicket. Suraj Rana scored 16 runs in 26 balls. Sonu took 2 wickets for Ward No. 12. Rahman was declared the man of the match.
In the second quarter finals of the tournament, Ward No. 5 defeated Ward No. 1 by 62 runs. Batting first, Ward No. 5 were dismissed in 145 runs in 16.3 overs. Nafiz scored 33 runs, Usman scored 26 runs and Irshad scored 24 runs for Ward No. 5. Amar took 4 wickets, Rahul took 2 wickets and Buddh Narayan took 1 wicket for Ward No. 1.
Chasing the target of 146 runs, Ward No. 1 were dismissed in 83 runs in 12.2 overs. Shivanath scored 30 runs while Amar scored 19 runs for Ward No.1. Usman took 4 wickets. Jamil took 3 wickets, Samir took 2 wickets and Rashid took 1 wicket. Usman was declared the man of the match.
The winner of the tournament will get the sum of sixty thousands rupees, winners trophy, medals and certificates. The runner-up of the tournament will get the sum of rupees forty five thousands rupees only, runner-up trophy, medals and certificates. The man of the series, best batsman, best bowler, man of the match will get different prizes as well.
