ACC U-16 Eastern Region tournament is being held at the moment. The match between Nepal and Thailand could not take place because of rain. Both teams shared a point each as the match was abandoned.
After winning the toss, Nepal batted first. Nepal gave the target of 235 runs. Ayush Bhattarai scored 58 runs in 73 balls with 9 fours. The captain of Nepalese team Bishal Bikram Kc made 38 runs. Dipak Bohara scored 35 runs. Bishal Patel scored an unbeaten 28 runs and Nikhil Singh scored an unbeaten 22 runs.
Chasing 235 runs, Thailand did not made a run in 1.5 overs with the loss of 1 wicket. The rain came into effect and further match was not possible. After sharing 1 point with Thailand, Nepal had 5 points in the group to be the group leader while Malaysia was there with 4 points. Thailand only managed to get 3 points and are out of the tournament. While Myanmar lost all the matches and are out from the tournament as well.
In the another group, Singapore and Hongkong was qualified for the semi final. In the last match of Group B, China defeated Singapore but the NRR of China was too less so they were not able to be selected further for the tournament. Nepal is the defending champion of this tournament.
