Region no 3 and 5 is all set to face each other in the finals of under 16 cricket tournament being help in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. Both the teams registered their win in the semis to book their place in the finals.

Region no 3 defeated Region no 2 by 15 runs.Region no. 2 won the toss and elected to field first. Region 3 scored just 154 rums by losing all their wickets in 29 overs. Ayush Bhattarai scored 77 runs in his innings. He hit two six and eight fours facing 66 balls in his innings. Captain Dipak Bohara only scored 10 runs, Prashant Kamat scored 13, Krish Karki 16 and Ashok Paudel 12 for Region 3. The bowlers of state 2, Imran sheikh and Bishal Patel took two wickets each while Prashant Singh and arbaz ansari took a wicket each and Nikhil Kumar singh took three wickets.

In reply, State 2 were all out in 139 runs in 28.5 overs. Imran sheikh scored 5, Birendra Sahani 13, Rohan Bika 20, Parshuram Yadav 31and Prashant Karki scored 22 runs. Shakriya Karki took 3 wickets, Tilak Bhandari and Dipak Bohara took 2 wickets each, Simant ghimire and Bibek Darai took a wicket each as well.

In the other semifinal match, the allrounded performance of Region 5 captain Bishal Bikram Karki was seen which resulted in the defeat of Region 7 by 6 wickets. The match was reduced to 22 overs due to rain. Region 7 won the toss and elected to bat and they scored just 77 runs losing all their wickets in 18.5 overs. Rahul Bhandari scored 19 runs. Captain Subash Airi scored 18 runs while rest of the squad did not scored runs in double figure. Bishal and Ramesh Kurmi took 3 wickets each while Suraj Khadka took 2 wickets.

In reply, Region 5 scored the winning runs in 19.2 over losing their 4 wickets. Sushant Thapa scored 22 runs. The captain bishal was not out on 21 runs. Amar Mishra scored 11 runs while Prakash Giri scored 10 runs. Subash took 3 wickets with 2 maidens giving just 6 runs in his 5 overs.

Today is the final of the tournament. There were 7 teams in the tournament. This tournament is a base for the selection of players for ACC U-16 Eastern Region for Nepal Team which is to be help in Thailand from April 18-29. 25 players will be selected at first while 14 players will be finally selected.

The winning team will get prizes worth Rs. 1 lakh and 50 thousands while the runner up will get equivalent to 75 thousands. The management of the tournament is done by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy.
