One particular role is considered to be quite important in the game of cricket and that is the role of the all-rounder. To have a great all-rounder in your team then is a big bonus for you and immediately makes you and your team so much stronger. For England, this is exactly how they feel due to the presence of their all-rounder. One of them which especially comes to mind would be Chris Woakes. Who is Chris Woakes and how far has he come with his career in cricket. Who is Chris Woakes? Born in 1989 and currently 30 years old, Chris is an English player who also plays for Warwickshire. One of his greatest achievements is no doubt his world cup win this with the England squad. However, that is not the only thing which he has managed to win during his life. His career or like for the sport can be traced all the way back to when Chris was just 7 years old. He first played for the cricket club, Aston Manor. In 2006, he would play in the minor counties trophy and play very well indeed. He was also not a dull kid by any stretch of the imagination. He had a very good score in his GCSE and would claim A’s in a number of courses such as childcare and hospitality amongst others. This fine player made his first debut for his country in 2009 when he was called up for the T20 games. That same year, he secured his first century in what was proving to be a very good year for him. In 2011, he would reach the 200 mark in relation to the number of first-class wickets which he had his team Warwickshire. That is simply an incredible range. In the recent world cup, he was the standout player in the semifinals and earned a Man of the Match award for his troubles. In that game, he contributed with three wickets. This saw England push forward into the final. This was their first appearance in the final since 1992 and you can be sure that he was pleased to be part of that wonderful achievement. Personal Life No matter how good someone might seem to be in cricket, the person must have a personal life which is probably more important to him than the sport. For Chris, it would probably his wife Arnie who he got married to in 2017. Since then, they have been blessed with an adorable daughter. That is probably additional blessings to being an amazing cricket player. Conclusion Sometimes, in any sport, it all comes down to one moment where a player-inspired them to greatness. That moment for England came at the semifinals when they pushed Australia away to make it to the next round. That moment came from Chris Woakes.
