Nepal also regained their t-20 status because of the ODI status. After getting the ODI status for the first time in the history of Nepali Cricket, Nepal played their first ever ODI series with Netherland in August 2018. Nepal somehow leveled the 2-match series against Netherland with only 1 run victory in the second ODI. Team news vs UAE: Yesterday, Nepal announced their 16-man squad to play in the upcoming ODI series against UAE. Due to the lack of physical fitness, Nepal’s famous all-rounder Sarad Veshwakar was given a rest to play against the UAE. He is currently suffering from the deficiency of vitamin d in his body and doctor said it will take at least 3 weeks for him to get his full fitness. As usual, the team will be led by captain Paras Khadka and Gyanendra Malla will be the vice-captain of the team. Yesterday, Nepal’s current youth cricket sensation Sandeep Lamichane has also returned home to join the national team. Source Sandeep, who is currently playing for Sylhet Sixers in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has returned to Nepal to complete his national duty. He has been Nepal’s busiest player in 2018. He played a lot of national and international franchise leagues in 2018 and is continuing his busy schedule in 2019 with Sylhet Sixers in BPl and Melbourne Stars in Big Bash League.
