A guide to show you how to rack up crazy amounts of XP so you can level up all your Pokémon FAST!
KANTO - One of the best ways we have found to level up your Pokémon in Pokémon: Let's Go is through catch-combos, or even simpler than that - catching Pokémon. If you haven't already noticed, depending on the size, the type of throw, or the combo bonus, you can rack up any large or small amount of XP for a successful catch. But what if I were to tell you that catching a certain Pokémon can earn you WAY more XP than the rest? Well, it's true. This is a guide to tell you about my findings.
The Pokémon I am referring to is Chansey, which is beautifully displayed in the above photo, which is one that I caught myself (can we also talk about how darn near close it is too flawless IV). Chansey, a Fairy-type Pokémon that is most well known for absorbing massive amounts of damage because of its high HP, can also help you rack you up some SERIOUS XP.
Above is an example of the XP I gained from catching a Chansey. This was somewhere in the 20-25 range of my catch-combo. The exact reasoning as to how you can get this much XP from a Chansey is still uncertain. My best guess is because of its spawning rate (which in most places is rare) and because of the difficulty in catching one (with an Ultra Ball it still has an orange ring around it).
Now, I don't want you to get the wrong idea. You aren't going to get 19,000 XP, or 15,000 XP, or even 10,000 XP every time you catch a Chansey. But once you get yourself in the 5-10 range of a catch-combo and beyond, you will get at least 5,000 XP for every one that you catch. It's worth noting that 5,000 XP is about twice as much as you'll get from a successful catch with a bunch of bonus multipliers on other Pokémon.
Your next question probably is, "Cool...so where do I find them?"
Here are the Chansey spawn locations in Pokémon: Let's Go:
- Diglett's Cave
- Mt. Moon
- Pokémon Mansion
- Power Plant
- Victory Road
- Cerulean Cave
Each location, with the exception of Cerulean Cave, is a "rare spawn" location for Chansey, meaning that the chances of it spawning are, well, rare. The chances of the egg-bearing Pokémon spawning in Cerulean Cave is 10%. So, if you read my last article and are already farming loot in the Cerulean Cave, you can also catch some Chansey's and rack up some crazy XP while also gathering enormous amounts of loot. You'd be surprised how fast they actually begin to spawn once you rack up a catch-combo...
