CLASH ROYALE!

Clash Royale, the popular card mobile game. This game is a very competitive game with defense towers and collectible cards that need players that are skilled. There was a Clash Royale World tournament not to long ago held in Tokyo. Professional league players competed in six team for a prize pool of a whooping $1,000,000.

Clash Royale League World Finals showed off there competitors like reality stars. As you can see in the trailer above, it has over +21 million views and counting on Youtube! I bet everyone was roaming the streets in Tokyo just to see this tournament. Mobile eSports are very serious just like any other eSport.

I feel that Clash Royale has a huge possibility for going global. At lasy year's crown championship tournament there were over 27 million entrants, that is more than any other eSport! According to Supercell Head of Esports Tim Ebner, China is domiating in the competitive scene side of eSports, but the Japanese eSport market is growing fast. That is one of the reasons why this tournament was held in Tokyo.

China placed first and Japan right behind them at second, at this years Clash Royale League challenge.

“We’ve seen higher viewership for esports in Japan,” Ebner explained. “It's also unique and differentiated. There have been lots of esports in China and Korea, and not so much here. So there’s a chance to do something a little bit new and unusual.”

Ebner wants to experiment with Clash Royale to see what works best. He knows there is a competitive side but he dose not want to forget about the audience.

Keeping a engaged audience is very good. Say there is a game with a small fee to enter and is accessible to anyone. That make a obvious path for anyone to play like casual or amateur players. The Clash Royale game team is hoping this is what will happen with the global tournament feature they will be adding soon.

Lets be honest mobile eSports are not that popular so it will be a little bit harder to establish a game as an eSports it self. Just like any other eSport to be established as a eSport, the entertainment value must match the convenience. At the Clash Royale finals they used this idea. They had priority on spectacle. Thousand of fans strolled into a huge arena, the din of the audience walked through a trail of artificial fire onto a stage. It must have been pretty fun for the viewers. They even got to see a team walk away with a huge trophy 8 hours later.

I think if Clash Royale keeps ups with being a competitive eSports, allowing the game for everyone, and being entertaining at the same time. They are in a really good spot for getting mobile esports right. It is a matter of time untill a game dose, but I think Clash Royale definitely has already claimed the right.
