Digital Athlete - Image Source

As we can see the most athlete that we know are more into traditional sports like soccer, basketball, tennis and many others that may involve physical and mental activities. Most athletes are physically fit to perform such sports in any tournament or competitions. But mostly they do some intense training before they will be a competitive athlete.

But, today there had been changes and that even not physically fit can be an athlete. This is through the digital evolution of our technology where each gamer can be considered an athlete. They will do some organized tournaments and competitions which will be managed by game developers and communities.

I think it is a great opportunity for every individual that they may choose whether they will engage in physical sports or digital sports. Either way, digital sports has been recognized by many communities that once you are into it, you yourself are already considered as an athlete.

Now this kind of sports are called eSports, a kind of sports wherein players will compete with the use of computers or digital technology. This kind of sports has been one of the trending sports where it has been supported by many people around the world.

Now, it can be considered as a real sport where it does relate into competitions and that minds are used to build up some strategies, even though there are less physical actions on this kind of sports but there are still slight movements.

There might be chances that in future Olympics, athletes will compete digitally. I think it is good not to be left behind by technology and that we should adopt changes so we can move forward and make progress to ourselves. We can see that there had been a digital game in soccer, basketball, and many others and that this can be considered too as part of eSports unless it is supported by the community as well as game developers and creators.

What do you think about this changes in terms of sports? Will you consider that digital games should be part of sports as well and that it can be considered as an Olympic game in the future?

I am hoping to see some comments and opinions on this article.
