In my absence from Scorum I have spent a while putting in some hours on games well loved like SC2 and Magic the Gathering. But I've also stumbled across a couple new games that I decided to give a spin.

The one I would like to focus on and get more people into is the game mentioned in the title above! Crossout!

I don't even know how to begin this besides to tell you that it just makes me smile.

I truly enjoy a game that I can customize and is complex in dynamics. The gameplay itself isn't complicated, but the steps to building your vehicles are more involved than I would imagine for a free to play game.

gameplay screens made into a gif! Sorry for the low quality, it lost many pixels during upload!

Since this is a game I just discovered today, it appears that I must game for quite some time until I can unlock more beastly items to make my apocalypse wagon the death machine it is meant to be. Or I could invest real money, but I would rather grind my way through.

You start out playing with some AI teams to get a handle on how things run and can unlock missions as you progress. You have to earn reputations with different factions in this desolate post-nuclear wasteland in order to unlock more blueprints to improve your vehicles.

But what excites me most about this game is it appears that you must take contruction into consideration. We aren't just talking about having the biggest guns and heavy armor in an effort to make yourself resilent and deadly. When you are building your rolling murder bus, you have to be mindful of center of gravity, part placement, and even gun placements. With too much recoil on one side you can actually flip your own vehicle.

Which is both hilarious and awesome.

As you can see here, James the AI had his guns generated on one side and rattled his car apart by unloading. (A couple pop shots from my own guns might have assisted)

There is also a plus in any game that has a very satisfying explosion upon destruction of an opponent.

So why would I bring this game to Scorum? I probably should mention that it is a MMO and I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see a tournament arise from something that is so customizable. In fact, I almost want to start one run on the Scorum backend. Anyone interested?

There appears to be quite a lurcrative racket in their internal market for those that make their own blueprints or sell especially destructive and unique customs. I saw one build going for $40 USD. There is massive money to be made and fun to be had!

If you'll be playing, let me know!

Oh, did I mention that this is from the same game company that created War Thunder, Gaijin? Quality!
