The American Superbowl was the other night, and since I am not necessarily the biggest football (not footy, the other one) fan, I was excited to see what might come out of it for the gaming community!

Surely there was going to be events that day, or perhaps even advertisements during the game for consoles and new tech!

I wasn't disappointed!

Microsoft wants everyone to play

Adverts that come out during the Superbowl are known as the only time something is watched FOR the commercials. Some are feel good, some are funny, some are sad.

Well, Microsoft has finally launched the inclusive controller that was in development during E3 and chose to wait until game night to make the big splash!

The controller for the Xbox is geared towards allowing those with physical disabilities to be able to play alongside their peers without struggle!

The Adaptive Controller comes with a wide selection of accessories and control options for those missing fingers, hands, and even those that are partially paralyzed! Everyone loves to be able to play with their friends, especially younger generations, and this new controller ensures that no one is left behind!

The kit is available for $99 and is fully customizable for those with special needs.

Oh, and it can also be used with Microsoft computers!

Fortnite puts on a better concert than the half time show

The largest in-game concert in the world happened, and unless you're an avid Fortnite player, you might have not even known it happened!

Marshmello, the popular EDM artist and Ninja gaming buddy, put on a face-melting performance inside the game LIVE. There are reports coming in that there were millions of people in attendance via the game and live stream.

The ten-minute set was filled with characters dancing, animated musical accompaniments, and of course, you can forget the lasers!

This successful move could usher in a whole new era of live concerts and promotional opportunities. Imagine a digital half time for eSports tournaments! I would watch that.

Apex Legends, the newest battle royale

And it's free! The Fortnite and PUBG contender from Respawn was announced this weekend via a live stream after some leaks about the game has gone public.

The team-based game is free on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 and will be bringing some new dynamics to battle royale style gaming!

It starts with 20 teams of three players and everyone enters the game equally matched. Because you enter with absolutely nothing and have to scavage your weapons, ammo, and armour as you explore the massive map. There are 8 characters to choose from with involved roles and skills that can be used in tandem with other players to create the most efficient team possible!

Something else that makes it interesting is that there is a ping system that makes it easier to communicate with teammates that may not have a headset. You can mark enemies, loot, and delegate found weapons to players that might need it most!

It is live now and you can download it on Origins for PC and from the appropriate stores on your consoles. So give it a try and get gud, there might be a tournament on the horizon!
