Steam Autumn Sale
Yesterday I received the dreaded email I knew was coming. My wallet screamed in terror and I tried to keep myself from clicking it. But the heading was too tempting.
"15 items on your Steam wishlist are on sale!"
This email rang in the beginning of the Steam Autumn Sale! The time of year when gamers and esports enthusiasts all but empty their bank accounts with a series of purchases of drastically marked down gaming titles.
Right now the Autumn sale is kicking off with a remarkable 14,500+ titles on sale! In fact, some of them are even free!
One of the steepest discounts I've seen has been for Borderlands 2 Handsome Collection which is originally $230 and is on sale for $15. Civilization V and VI special editions are also on extreme discount from over $120 down to $30 for VI and $12 for the Complete V! Even Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Croft Edition has been slashed to 50% off! I can't even begin to summarize all of the huge deals that are happening right now, you will have to look!
If there has been a big title you've been watching for PC, now is definitely the time to snatch them up! But try not to bankrupt yourself.
Edible Gaming Controller
The title of this might be a little misleading. It isn't some kind of controller that is candy flavored, and it isn't so much a controller as it is a sensor... it is, however, a game!
This pill can be swallowed and allows you to compete with another player to complete challenges... by raising your internal temp. This can be achieved by drinking or eating certain foods for the time that it is in your stomach. You can even eat spicy food to make your gut work a little harder and raise the temperature!
Once it passes from your stomach, however, you're going to have to reach your goals by exercising. (Which is the only way to raise the temperatures in your intestines)
It is all monitored on your smartphone!
I can't help but laugh at the idea of people modding these pills as a way to cheat in the game. Perhaps even popping them into frying pans or buckets of water?
Now, the novelty of this game is pretty great. But what could this have to do with sports besides it being a video game of digestion? How else could it be utilized?
One thing that came to mind was using this to monitor the internal temperatures and hydration of athletes at risk. Like those during the summer months for outdoor training, or perhaps even racing drivers! (It gets extremely hot in those suits and in the cars)
Here is the video from Gut Games!
TwitchCon Comes to Europe
In April of 2019, there will be the first TwitchCon outside of the USA!
The gaming convention has selected Berlin, Germany as it's new hub for their event. Germany recently loosened restrictions on visas just for the eSports player and tourism, so it is no surprise that it will be the ideal location!
Not to mention the ease of access for many that wish to travel from overseas and inland!
It is expected to be just as big on an event with very similar exhibitions and experiences that can be found in the US convention. It is quite possible that with it being the first European TwitchCon that attendance and hype could exceed the ones seen previously this year!
There isn't much more to report on this just yet, but I'll be keeping my eye on announcements and developments as the date looms closer!
Would you play Gut Games? Are there any game you have your eye on during the sale? Will you be attending TwitchCon Europe? Let me know below!
Stay tuned for more similar content and e-sports!!
Have a fantastic day,
