Some welcome and some very unwelcome changes are coming to the games we know and love! It seems that developers have to keep things rolling fast and furious in order to catch the eye of the discerning gamer.

Below you will find some new developments to games you may have played, watching in tournaments, or hold dear to your heart!

Let's see what's in store!

CoD 4 Brings Back Zombies

With the Absolute Zero update came the map everyone had been waiting to arrive. Zombies were, by far, one of the most popular modes of play and now it's back!

And it has some new twists in store.

Instead of slaying undead nazis this time around, you find yourself at a mysterious house party in 1912 where you face not only the undead, but a slew of other creatures that thirst for blood.

If you listen carefully you might recognize quite a few big named celebrities as your hosts and teammates!

Not only will there be different types of zombies attempting to take you down, but you will also face off against vampires and werewolves. But don't worry, included in the map are tons of brand new weapons.

It looks like a lot of fun, even if it is a bit cheesy with the werewolf addition. Take a look and tell me what you think:

Heroes of the Storm all but Abandoned

It seems that the next victim of the Blizzard shakeup is Heroes of the Storm.

The company, in a bold move, has pulled many of its developers to work on other projects for future release. They have made promises to the devoted community that surrounds this game, and those promises are that they plan to continue making quality content for Heroes but the pace will be much slower.

This is news that the competitors might have been able to swallow until it came to them cancelling the main tournaments and have said that they will not be returning.

So, pretty much, that is their polite way of saying that this game is dead.

Hopefully whatever they pulled the devs to work on is better than the mobile Diablo game or else Blizzard's glory days are more than likely over.

Planetside's Glorious Return

It's been a hot minute since the Scifi game Planetside has had a new instalment and it is coming in the form of Planetside Arena.

With so many competing games on the market, it is hard to find a niche or something that will help you stand apart. Especially since they have decided to step into the buzzing popularity that is Battle Royale. But it seems like they have something pretty intense that sets them apart.

When you enter the massive map, you spawn with a weapon and a vehicle (because massive map) but what awaits you could be nothing short of unbridled chaos. Planetside is starting their battle royale with a shocking 250 vs 250 to test and then moving up to 500 competitors in one map.

Their goal? 1,000.

A thousand people in a game of battle royale.

I've never played, but I very well may have to just to see how insane this will be.
