It is hard to believe that people my age are old enough to feel nostalgic, but here we are. This is where we start becoming old, it seems.

The game dynamics and graphics that we grew up with are now considered retro and are circling back around to hip. But on the bright side, that means that we can get our nostalgia on but in high def and with much better mechanics available!

I'm pretty sure everyone remembers Tron. Well, this game that was announced at PAX takes cars, tosses them in a Tron dressing and spits them out into a battle royale racing game that cannot be surpassed!

From Steam!

Party Crashers is basically what you would get if you gave Mario Cart LSD and let it run wild.

This 80's infused racing game is actioned packed and insane. Behind the starting line is a red laser that will absolutely obliterate you if your opponents or an unexpected curve in the track doesn't.

The best part of this battle royale of racing is that it is customizable to levels that are pretty much unheard of. The creators take almost any idea players have and throw it in as an option as long as it doesn't wreck the game itself. The cars, to the tracks, can be built to fit your personal tastes.

The fast pace is also a huge allure since they don't last much longer than 60 seconds the number of games and lobby turn over ensures that you're never sitting around and waiting for a game to start. You can also choose from all kinds of different styles of play from timed games to battle modes, and even speed based.

It is available on Steam right now for the price of $14 USD and it might honestly be worth the price!

Take a look at the trailer:

Speaking of retro...

Long gone are the days of the original Doom and Duke Nukem, but there are people out there that want to recapture that magic in every pixel. Oh, but make it even better.

Enter Project Warlock!

From GOG!

This brand new spin on the FPS games that molded the modern world of shooters perfectly recaptures the experience without having to dust off your old PCs. With 60 levels and 72 unique enemies (That's like 1.2 new enemies for every level!) and 5 different worlds, it is sure to offer plenty of variety! Not to mention that there are almost 40 upgradable weapons and 8 spells.

But keep in mind that choosing if you will use spells or weapons determines the type of enemies you face!

You can easily shuffle through weapons with your mouse scroll wheel as you fight your way through the oddly familiar halls of enemies. Oh, and you can choose your difficulty levels, but do so with care. casual gives you endless lives and standard gives you the dreaded three.

Hardcore? One life. And chances are, it won't get you too far. Take a look!

The game is available for $12 on GOG (with a solid 5 star rating) and requires you to have a decent system to run it despite its old school graphics aesthetic!

However, if you can't afford the $12 or don't care for GOG you can also try out Hellbound on Steam! It is touted as the "90's FPS made 20 years later"! And it's free!

Would you play either of these games? Is there one that you think should have been alongside these two titles? Let me know below!
